Biography:
“I began training in Hawaii under my older brothers Ben and Al, in Kajukenbo, in 1963. Those days you learn real quick to defense yourself and about discipline and respect. Then when my brother moved to the “mainland”, I trained a little with Sifu Roy Ebalaroza in Chang San Feng Internal Boxing, Sifu SamNam Luk in Huk Hu Gungfu (Black Panther style) and a few other styles in my quest for knowledge.
I eventually moved to Colorado to help in my brother’s schools and compete in some of the Rocky Mountain Region Karate tournaments. I was fortunate to be a part of the original Dacascos Demonstration team in Denver, then later with the “Hard Knocks” Martial Arts group with Karyn Turner. Trained with friend and mentor H.Degala in the
Balintawak Arnis system and some other Filipino Martial Arts Systems. Later incorporating NLP, Aerobic Martial Arts, Environmental training, other areas of study to keep the arts alive.
In the 90’s , I worked with some of the local Filipno clubs.
Choreographing ethnic dances and fight scenes for historical plays,and teaching the Eskrima side of Wun hop kuen do. Presently, I am “semi-retired” from teaching, but ‘always training…maybe not always physically, but always in spirit, mind, and body.”
